Eastern Neck Island Waterfowl and Fall Foliage Paddle

Witness the fall migration of waterfowl and the beautiful changing leaf colors in the pristine salt marshes and tidal creeks of Eastern Neck Island Wildlife Refuge.

Date(s):

Overview:

Come explore the pristine salt marshes and tidal creeks of Eastern Neck Island Wildlife Refuge, one of the best spots for bird watching and leaf peeping in the mid-Atlantic region, while viewing fall foliage in its full autumn splendor. Sultana Education Foundation's public paddles are a great way to explore the shallow creeks, streams, and rivers that flow to our nation’s largest estuary. During a typical voyage, participants paddle through scenic, undeveloped portions of one of the Bay’s tidal tributaries while learning about the flora and fauna that make the region so unique. Kayak programs take place on the National Park Service’s Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail and were established with the support of the National Park Service’s Chesapeake Bay Gateways office. Kayaks are provided so all you need to bring is water, a snack, and your binoculars! No children under 12.
